Huntsville, Ala. (January 27, 2000) - Internet Service Provider, HiWAAY Information Services
of Huntsville, Ala., announces the acquisition of the Internet Services division of Internett Port
Communications of Oxford, Ala.
Donna Feazell, owner of Internett Port Communications, explained the acquisition; "We think
our customers are best served by HiWAAY's high performance and very reliable network,
rather than continuing to operate our own ISP. We wanted to focus our efforts on marketing
opportunities for cellular telephone, paging, satellite TV and other related Internet products and
services such as T-1, ISDN and dedicated Internet connections.
According to Mark Derrick, HiWAAY's chief technical officer, "Customers in the Calhoun
county area will be pleased with the improved reliability of e-mail and faster connections. Also,
HiWAAY includes a personal web site with each account at no extra charge."
Internett Port Communications will join the HiWAAY team as an Authorized Dealer. Residents
and businesses in the Calhoun, Etowah, Dekalb and Marshall County areas will be able to obtain
HiWAAY's services at one of Internett Port Communications' locations in Oxford, Boaz and
Albertville. "Internett Port Communications is extremely excited about providing customers with
HiWAAY's top-quality service and technical support," Feazell said.
Internett Port Communications was established in August 1996 to provide Internet services in
the Calhoun County area. Feazell's previous sales background in cellular corporate and
government sales later encouraged cellular, paging and satellite TV sales as added products and
services. Feazell has been in the communications industry since 1991.
HiWAAY Information Services is a full-service Internet Service Provider (ISP) providing
